Hi! My name is Amanda Watson. I am a Board Certified Holistic Nutrition Consultant, certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor, dance instructor, and professional member of the National Association of Nutrition Professionals (NANP). Some of you may know me from the adult dance and fitness studio that I owned in Kenmore, NY called Nickel City Dance & Fitness Center. Like many other dance studios and gyms my business experienced financial hardships due to the COVID-19 pandemic and I closed my studio. While it was a difficult decision, it allowed me the time to return to school and become Board Certified in Holistic Nutrition®. It has always been my dream to blend my love of dance, fitness and nutrition into one business and I’m excited for this next chapter as Nickel City Wellness LLC. Why “holistic nutrition”? Well, through my own experience with hormonal issues, anxiety, and stubborn weight gain I learned how important taking a “whole person” approach is to healing. I spent many years bouncing around to conventionally trained doctors without success. As a last resort I went to a functional medicine doctor who looked at all aspects of my health: diet, sleep, stress/emotions, toxin exposure, and digestion. Through diet and lifestyle changes I finally started to feel better and went from surviving to thriving. I knew then and there that I wanted to help educate and empower others to take control of their health though nutrition as lifestyle as well.
When working with me I will help you address all areas of your health and wellbeing because all of our body systems are connected. We will take a whole person approach and review and assess what is working for you and helping your thrive and reach your goals and what is not. Together, we will create SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Time bound) that will help you achieve the health and life you’ve dreamed of. It really can be as simple as diet and lifestyle changes!
